FUSED CALCIUM SILICATE


Fused Calcium silicate is synthesized from high quality silica (SiO2 ≥ 98%) and high-quality limestone (CaCO3 ≥ 97%) at high temperature.

The reaction equation is SiO2 + CaCO3 → CaSiO3 + CO2.
Fused calcium silicate is synthetic products, which the chemical composition is more stable and the phase structure is more uniform than natural wollastonite’s. 
So, the fused calcium Ferrate mainly is used to rapidly reduce the content of phosphor and oxygen in the refining of steel. Especially, it will be performed well in the silicon steel’s refining.
Generally, the fused calcium silicate will be water quenched and the melted material is transformed to cryptocrystalline vitreous. The quenched product is characterized with good dispersibility, high purity and low LOI. So, it also is an ideal material for continuous casting mold flux and electrode coating materials.
